What a Fanny!

HOWL[ing]
HOWL[ing] was a collaboration between Leyla, Drew Taylor, David Rankine and Julia and The Doogans. It was supported by Glasgay! and Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival. It was a spoken word show based on Allen Ginsberg’s ‘Howling’ and explored Scottish Independence. HOWL[ing] was presented at The Traverse Theatre and The Arches. (2014)
Hopeless
Hopeless was debuted at The Edinburgh Fringe 2017. Hopeless was nominated for the Amnesty International Freedom of Speech Award, The New Voice Award Brighton, shortlisted for The Prague Fringe Performance Award and was runner up in The Saboteur’s Best Spoken Word Show. The UK tour included Camden’s People’s Theatre in London, The Tron Theatre in Glasgow, Migration Matters Festival in Sheffield, Alphabetti Theatre in Newcastle, Summerhall in Edinburgh in association with The Scottish Poetry Library, The Prague Fringe and The Brighton Fringe. Daddy Drag
Leyla’s most recent show Daddy Drag was previewed at Assembly Roxy in Edinburgh. It won the 2019 Autopsy Award, meaning it was funded and presented by Summerhall at The Edinburgh Fringe. It was also included in the 2019 Filipa Braganca Award short list which is an award celebrating women making groundbreaking personal performances. It was toured to Tron Theatre in Glasgow. Daddy Drag was supported by Creative Scotland. (2019 - 2020)
